NOTICE OF RACE

Classes:

The FIYC Race Committee will assign racing and cruising canvas yachts to classes using their PHRF rating and to the International One Design, Watch Hill 15, Ensign and other one design classes as appropriate.

Rules:

Races will be governed by the current Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of US SAILING, the rules of the International One-Design, Ensign and Watch Hill 15 classes (in those classes) except as any of these are modified by the sailing instructions.  Scratch Sheet will be on our website Friday night.  Sailing instructions will be available on-line, at the Club and posted on the notice board before 0800 Sept. 1.  PHRF classes will be handicapped by the time on time method.

Schedule of Events:

Course:

All classes will start and finish just outside West Harbor, Fishers Island.  The race will be around Fishers Island, about 15 miles. Course descriptions will be in the Race Instructions and class assignments and ratings will be shown in the Scratch Sheet.

Eligibility:

The Round Island Regatta is open to yachts which submit a valid PHRF certificate with their entry, yachts in the International One Design, Watch Hill 15 and Ensign classes and by invitation.

Awards:

Commodore David F. Harris Trophy for 1^st FIYC boat,

First, Second and Third place trophies in every class,

Island Cup Trophy for combined Fishers Island YC, Mason Island YC and Ram Island YC races.

Entries may be made on ECSA or FIYC entry form.  Forms are available at www.fiyc.net.  All entrants must sign a FIYC waiver form.  To request a form or submit one, please write:
